New Lawyer Ad

Isn't this nice?

I discovered this at Home Office Lawyer.

John,

one reaps what one sows. They are the predictable result of over time bad money drives out good. Pape Chandler is no different from the Intellectual Property firm that is out there advertising with a Cobra

today is not the time and this is not the place for writing about all the ills in our profession, but a good start would be to close all the law schools and not admit anyone for 20 years so as to bring supply into line with demand

Moe,
That *sounds* like a good idea, but being protectionist isn't the right solution.

There are a *lot* of talented lawyers out there doing the right thing, but they're not seen in public.

One of the first steps lawyers can take is to show the good work that they're doing. Weblogs such as John has for his firm are an important step.

David Ball says that the good lawyers almost have an ethical obligation to let people know the 'better side'.

And in general, while I have *serious* issues with some advertising, and while Pape Chandler is not my cup of tea, they are biker lawyers advertising to the biker community.

It appears to be a niche they fill in real life and want to advertise to their consitutency. While I might not like any particular ad (or the pitbull image), what's wrong with them sitting astride motorcycles, wearing biker garb and appealing to the people they hang out with?
